Psychedelia is a turn-based role-playing game that appears in the The Patron of Villains web novel and webtoon series. It is the game that Allon Palateo played extensively in his previous life before awakening inside its world. The game's story is centered around the eventual appearance of the Five Prime Sins, powerful figures whose actions lead to the downfall of the world & because Allon remembers the game's characters, events, and future conflicts, he attempts to change the story after possessing Allon Palateo's body.
Gameplay
Psychedelia is described as a turn-based RPG. The game contains multiple routes, although the Five Prime Sins eventually appear regardless of which route the player follows. According to Allon, their emergence ultimately causes the kingdom, its nobility, and its cities to begin collapsing. The game also features powerful boss characters, including individuals who later become the Five Prime Sins.
Story
In the original storyline of Psychedelia, five individuals with traumatic pasts eventually become known as the Five Prime Sins. Their experiences leave them emotionally broken and eventually transform them into extremely powerful villains. Regardless of the route taken by the player, their appearance marks the beginning of the downfall of the Federation Kingdom of the East. Among them is Eutiah Bloodia, who becomes the Sin of Wrath and is later known as the Bloody Queen. Deus Macallion also becomes one of the Five Prime Sins after suffering through slavery and experimentation. The original game's storyline also includes numerous criminal organizations, noble families, and major political powers throughout the kingdom.
Characters
Five Prime Sins
The Five Prime Sins are among the most important figures in the game's original storyline.
- Eutiah Bloodia — Sin of Wrath
- Deus Macallion
- Solan — Sin of Pride
- Rinne — Sin of Greed
- Radan — Sin of Mysophobia
Each of them originally experiences severe trauma before becoming a major threat to the kingdom.
Allon Palateo
The original Allon Palateo is an insignificant extra villain with no important role in the game's main story. He is the third son of the House of Palateo and is regarded as powerless, illiterate, and useless. After the protagonist possesses his body, however, Allon begins interfering with events that the original character was never involved in.
House of Palateo
Several members of the Palateo family appear as criminal figures within the game's world.
Tonio Palateo is destined to become the King of Drugs, while Leo Palateo becomes an influential criminal figure and succeeds the family.
Bosses
Several characters remembered by Allon are identified as bosses from Psychedelia.
Deus Macallion is described as the second boss of the game. In the original storyline, his experiences as a slave and experimental subject eventually turn him into one of the Five Prime Sins.
The Five Prime Sins themselves become some of the most dangerous figures encountered within the game's story.
Differences from the original storyline
After possessing Allon Palateo, the protagonist deliberately interferes with the game's events. His first major change is rescuing the future Five Prime Sins before the tragedies that originally transformed them into villains can fully occur. These interventions rapidly cause the world to diverge from the version of Psychedelia that he remembers.
Major differences include:
- The Five Prime Sins being rescued years before their original rise as villains.
- The creation of the Blue Moon, an organization that did not exist in the original game.
- The early deaths of Tonio Palateo and Leo Palateo.
- The destruction of Avalon much earlier than expected.
- Allon becoming the presumed successor of House of Palateo.
As these changes accumulate, Allon's knowledge of the game becomes increasingly unreliable.
Role in the series
Allon's knowledge of Psychedelia is the foundation of his plans after entering its world. He uses his memories to identify future villains, criminal organizations, major families, and events before they occur. His primary objective is to prevent the Five Prime Sins from destroying the kingdom by rescuing them before their traumatic pasts can completely shape their futures. owever, Allon frequently misunderstands the consequences of his actions. While he believes he is simply rehabilitating the future Five Prime Sins, they instead begin worshipping him as the Great Moon and form the Blue Moon in his name. As the altered timeline continues to diverge from the original game, Allon is forced to rely less on his memories and increasingly develop his own strength.
